With this series, #beingsofbruko, we aim to shine a light on unique individuals and connect them with others through @b.bruko.studio. Each story is distinct yet resonates with a sense of familiarity. In this chapter, we bring you the story of Pamo.
Who is Pamo? How would you describe yourself?
“I don’t know how to answer this question, but if I start from the very basic, I am Atal Pamo. A psychotherapist by education, a UPSC aspirant by circumstances, and an overthinking creative at heart.
I love the process of expression, to create something with my own hands, being out in nature or anywhere. Mainly, with my camera to show what I see, and other things like pottery, tea-making, gardening, dyeing—anything I can touch and feel.”
What would you consider as a primary root of your being—something that has been consistent throughout your life?
“I am very emotional; I feel things too deeply. I have always been an emotional kid as far as I remember, and I cherish it. For all the overflowing feelings and emotions, I have learned to channel them out of me by being creative.”
How do you navigate through life, with survival and passion posing as opposite sides of a river bank refusing to meet?
“The path I have chosen is not easy. I love taking my time for doing something creative, but I am also restrained by the amount of time UPSC preparation demands. I am never completely present on either side, floating in the river, barely alive.
But deep inside, I have this understanding that Civil Services and working as a creative may seem very different, but at the core, they have similar values/objectives. A job of a civil servant is not easy; you need to be courageous and creative. And art is for courageous people as well. We do it ourselves and for the people.”
Life is built on the choices we make at crossroads. But at times, when choices are unmakeable, balance becomes the key to achieving sanity and peace—at least for a while, until chaos ensues again.
The hardest choices often grapple with the question of fate: Do you go with the fate handed to you, or do you go with the fate that took birth within you? Neither is irrelevant.
At @b.bruko.studio, we made a choice—to pursue slow and sustainable over fast and trending. A choice labeled “futile” by the third eye. But certain things are timeless and hence worth preserving.
The fast and trending needs the slow and sustainable to keep it from spiraling out of control, to create balance—the single most essential aspect of today’s modern human condition.
So, what if your dreams have no strings attached to reality? You can weave a few to anchor a piece of your dream to reality.
Whether it’s choosing one path or balancing several paths—choose to live life in its truest form, with all your choices.
And with that, we close this chapter. Thank you Pamo, for sharing your art with us. It has been a pleasure knowing you. You have truly inspired us, and we wish you the best in all your future endeavors.
